Astun Technology Supports Ordnance Survey

Staff from Astun Technology, the leading provider of cloud-based open-source GIS solutions to local and central governments, will be attending every one of the Ordnance Survey ‘Public Sector Mapping Agreement Regional Events’ which are being held around the UK in the next couple of months.

The public sector has never seen more change that it is currently experiencing with every department and organisation searching for the most efficient and imaginative way of providing answers to their citizens through mapping.

These events have been designed to allow members of the Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) User Representative Group to explore and compare the available solutions from commercial suppliers.

Astun Technology combines market-leading expertise in open-source mapping technology with a deep understanding of cloud-based management and delivery of geo-data and software. This combination has seen them design and deliver tailored mapping solutions to local authorities all over the United Kingdom. Additionally, the company works with many central government departments and non-governmental organisations.

Head of Sales for Astun, Mike Smith explained more about why the company is supporting all of the OS PSMA events; “The public sector is provided the Ordnance Survey mapping data under their PSMA and our job is to provide the supportive technology, infrastructure and expertise that will allow them to make the very most of this hugely valuable source of information.

Cloud-based solutions are not the future any more, they are now and we have proved that we know how to build, deliver and support them. I’m really looking forward to exploring how we can help everyone who attends these exciting events.”
