Teledyne Optech and IGI Announce New Cooperative Agreement and First Product Offering

Teledyne Optech is pleased to announce a new cooperative agreement with IGI – Integrated Geospatial Innovations, Germany, a long-time industry leader in the development, sale, deployment and service of advanced remote sensing technologies within Europe and abroad.

The partnership of Teledyne Optech and IGI serves to benefit both parties significantly. By jointly leveraging their expertise they will add new product innovations to both companies’ product portfolios. It also provides Teledyne Optech with a lidar and camera service footprint within Europe that was previously handled remotely with in-field service technicians from Canada.

“We are extremely honored to be able to partner with the IGI team,” said Michael Sitar, Business Manager of the Airborne Mapping Solutions division at Teledyne Optech. “IGI brings to the table a long history of remote sensing innovation and expertise that spans decades. We greatly respect the quality of their products and look forward to offering new advanced solutions moving forward.”

Philipp Grimm, CEO at IGI added, “The cooperation with Optech extends our portfolio. IGI’s aim is to widen the product lineup with the integration of best-of-breed sensors into our in-house developed flight management and GNSS/IMU systems. With the well-proven quality of Optech sensors, we are convinced that we can now offer the best possible integrated sensor portfolio for our customers. With Optech as partner, IGI will also have the opportunity to give local support for our customers in North America.”

The first product created from this cooperation will be on display at INTERGEO 2017, Berlin, at IGI stand C1.038 in hall 1.1. This is an Optech Eclipse high-precision lidar sensor driven by IGI’s CCNS-5 flight management system and their AEROcontrol Compact inertial solution for small to mid-size area projects and/or high-precision corridor surveying. The sensor features a Class 1 laser capable of 800-m range performance on 10% reflective targets (8 pts/m2 at 100 knots), parallel scan lines, and a tightly-integrated IGI DigiCAM-100 camera.
