Cartegraph and CycloMedia Partner to Deliver Timely, Objective Asset Data to the Public Sector

Cartegraph, a leader in high-performance government software and services, announced today a partnership with CycloMedia, the market leader in systematic imaging of large-scale environments. The strategic alignment will help the public sector efficiently and economically build comprehensive asset inventories, and in turn, modernize their day-to-day operations and sharpen their decision making with timely, objective data.

“Cities and counties across the country are faced with the same seemingly impossible task each day: maintain and protect billions of dollars in infrastructures assets with budget constraints and limited resources,” said Cartegraph President and CEO Jake Schneider. “We are proud to partner with CycloMedia to provide these government leaders the data they need to cost-effectively preserve their assets, tactically invest in improvements and ensure the best quality of life possible for their citizens.”

The CycloMedia partnership will complement the Cartegraph Data Services team’s preexisting pavement collection and assessment capabilities. As part of the asset inventory process, CycloMedia will capture images of above-ground assets—such as benches, fire hydrants and traffic signals—using vehicles fitted with their patented GeoCyclorama™ system that captures high quality, georeferenced, 360-degree panoramic images with no parallax or visible image stitching.

Once the drive is completed by CycloMedia, the Cartegraph Data Services team will use the mobile mapping system to pinpoint, visualize, measure, edit and validate infrastructure assets with a high level of accuracy. The Cartegraph team will analyze the imagery and create a comprehensive asset inventory that can be loaded in Cartegraph’s Operations Management System, and further used by the city or county to track conditions, conduct maintenance work, and monitor all costs and activities associated with an individual or group of assets.

“We are very pleased to form a strategic partnership with Cartegraph. Combining CycloMedia’s innovative technology with Cartegraph’s forward-thinking software offers local government a powerful solution that can build their asset inventories quickly and cost-effectively,” said CycloMedia CEO Joe Astroth.
