Geospatial Information and Technology Association (GITA ) 2017 Scholarship Opportunities

St. Paul, Minnesota, February, 2017 – Each year GITA’s professional educational activities generate funds which are used to award scholarships to deserving students.  Scholarships are available from both GITA North America and its local chapters (A separate application must be completed for each program.)

The following scholarships are available in 2017:

GITA Northwest Chapter Scholarship Program – Awarded in the amount of $1,000.  One or more scholarships may be awarded based on applications received by the chapter.  Eligibility requires attending a post-secondary institution within the Pacific Northwest and a program focus on Geographic Information Systems.

Application deadline is April 1, 2017.

GITA Mid-Atlantic Chapter Scholarship Program – Awarded in the amount of $1,000.  Awards are typically in excess of $2,000 per year.  Eligibility requires an area of study which includes a large geospatial component. Applicants must be a citizen or legal resident of the United States or Canada and be enrolled in a school within the United States or Canada.

Application deadline is April 30, 2017.

GITA North America Scholarship Program – Awarded in the amount of $1,000.  Scholarship awards are typically totaling in excess of $3,000 per year.  Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a school within the United States or Canada. Citizenship or legal residency in the United States or Canada is required.  Student coursework must include a large geospatial component.

Application deadline is July 31, 2017.
