NM Group Purchase New Leica ALS80 LiDAR System

NM Group have completed the purchase of the Leica ALS80 airborne sensor and RCD30 camera to further expand its aerial data collection services. This latest generation sensor combines a corridor mapping LiDAR scanner and high resolution camera, creating an efficient, powerline focused mapping system.

Known for delivering high quality asset management and engineering solutions, NM Group’s new investment will further increase operational capacity and ability to meet growing client demands. The Leica Geosystems solution features an industry leading pulse rate, enabling higher altitude flights to be competed without compromising product quality. This reduces the time to complete aerial surveys which is particularly valuable for larger, network-wide projects.

NM Group CEO, Kevin Jacobs commented, “We are really pleased to be bringing on a further LiDAR system with our purchase of the Leica ALS80. This sensor is very efficient, reducing overall survey time while improving the quality of our data. It also has an improved ability to detect small utility wires, something absolutely critical in our line of business.”
