Aerometrex Releases 3D Models for Adelaide and Gold Coast

The 3D models show the two cities in super resolution of approximately 2-3cm pixels and are accurate to better than 10cm in X, Y & Z. They show every feature in the CBD area to an unprecedented degree of realism and detail.

The 3D models were produced using Aerometrex’s proprietary 3D modelling service, aero3Dpro. They are generated by taking thousands of 2D photographs from a helicopter, and mathematically modelling the bundle of light rays that makes up each photograph. The intersecting light rays are then used as measurement vectors to features on the ground.

Adelaide:

Aero3Dpro models can be used for both visualization and communication of proposed changes as well as a measurement source for surveying and engineering applications. Other spatial datasets can be overlaid on them to provide thematic information content in a full 3D GIS database.

Aerometrex is selling data licences for the Adelaide and Gold Coast CBD datasets and welcomes enquiries from all users of map and spatial data, or from anyone who wants to trial a new development or concept in the virtual world before committing to the physical world.

Gold Coast:
