Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure Enhances Security at Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit with Intergraph CAD and Mobile Responder App

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Jan. 12, 2016 — Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure’s Intergraph Computer-aided Dispatch (I/CAD) system, including  its Mobile Responder app, were deployed by Pure Force and Rescue Corporation and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to improve safety and security during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.

Amid international security concerns following recent terrorist attacks, security measures were heightened for the high-profile international economic forum that gathered the heads of government from the 21 member countries to discuss trade on November 18-19, 2015, in Manila, Philippines.

Using Hexagon’s industry-leading I/CAD in the command center, PNP – the main agency in command and in partnership with Pure Force – benefitted from one common operating picture and detailed information to monitor incidents and manage situations in real time. A total of about 1,000 police officers stationed around the Mall of Asia in Pasay City, the meeting venue for the APEC summit, were equipped with Mobile Responder – an extension of I/CAD’s incident management capabilities on mobile devices for first responders in the field. This allowed the officers to access real-time data and gain true situational awareness to deliver timely, quality response.

“We were confident in our ability to safeguard the APEC Summit because we are equipped with the I/CAD software solution and Mobile Responder app,” said Jomerito “Jojo” Soliman, president of Pure Force, “We are proud that we could help our nation create a safer environment for the international delegates where the most stringent security standard was demanded in an event as significant as the APEC Summit.”

PNP had access to the Hexagon software thanks to Pure Force, a private initiative formed to support public safety and emergency response in Philippines. Pure Force is donating Hexagon’s mission-critical software to Philippines public safety agencies, including PNP. With the Hexagon solutions, multiple agencies, such as police, fire and rescue and ambulance, can deliver swift, coordinated response to incidents as mission-critical information is shared among them seamlessly.

The global leader in public safety and security solutions, Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure (formerly Intergraph Security Government & Infrastructure) helps protect 1 in 12 people worldwide. By improving the quality, accuracy and availability of critical information, Hexagon’s integrated solutions increase public safety and security performance and productivity, while reducing the total cost of ownership for mission-critical IT investments.
