The International Map Industry Association endorses the International Map Year 2015 – 2016 as proposed by the International Cartographic Association as a valuable means to promote the importance of maps and Geoinformation.

Brisbane’s GIS Day events, created by GIS People, are the largest in the world! Bringing people together from across Australia – government, professionals, businesses, uni students and everyone in between – it is an awesome event that connects the geospatial industry to potential or existing users and clients. This year, Brisbane GIS Day also runs the day after the International Map Industry Association (IMIA) Asia Pacific Conference, creating an epic 3-day geospatial event celebrating International Map Year!
