Hescom to Cover Power Lines Under GIS Mapping

With a view to provide better service to consumers and fix the faults in electricity lines quickly, the Hubli Electricity Supply Company (Hescom) has taken measures to cover all low- and high-tension wires under Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping.  Hescom is said to be the first company in the state to hit upon the idea to implement GIS to avoid uninterrupted power supply in all the seven districts falling under its ambit in north Karnataka.
