New IOLAN SCR210 and SCR218 models, dual ±48 VDC options, and a free SAML 2.0 firmware update extend secure out-of-band management to more enterprise and industrial environments.
PRINCETON, N.J. (October 08, 2026): Perle Systems, a global provider of secure device networking hardware, today announced the expansion of its IOLAN SCR Console Server portfolio with the new IOLAN SCR210 and IOLAN SCR218 models. The company also introduced dual ±48 VDC-powered options for industrial deployments and SAML 2.0 authentication across the entire IOLAN SCR product family.
The new IOLAN SCR210 and IOLAN SCR218 are entirely new models providing 10 and 18 console management ports, respectively. They complement existing 24-, 34-, 40-, and 56-port models, giving customers six port density options so organizations can select the right console server for each location while maintaining a consistent approach to remote infrastructure management across data centers, branch offices, telecommunications networks, substations, government facilities, retail locations, and other distributed infrastructure environments.
Across the portfolio, IOLAN SCR Console Servers provide secure remote access to RS232, Ethernet, and USB-connected equipment from multiple vendors. This enables network administrators to monitor, troubleshoot, and manage critical infrastructure even when the primary production network is unavailable.
SAML 2.0 Now Available Across the IOLAN SCR Family
Perle has also added SAML 2.0 authentication to every IOLAN SCR Console Server. The functionality is available today as a free firmware update for existing customers and is included with all new models.
Organizations can implement SAML 2.0 authentication directly on an individual IOLAN SCR or through a Perle Central Management Platform. This gives organizations the flexibility to apply established identity policies to a single device or consistently across console servers deployed at multiple locations.
IOLAN SCR Console Servers work with SAML 2.0-compatible identity providers, including Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Ping Identity, OneLogin, and JumpCloud. Administrators can use existing corporate credentials and established single sign-on and multi-factor authentication policies to manage access to remote infrastructure.
By reducing reliance on separate device-specific credentials, SAML 2.0 simplifies user onboarding and offboarding, reduces password fatigue, strengthens access-policy consistency, and improves audit visibility. It also reduces the risk of forgotten local passwords remaining outside the organization’s established identity and access management policies.
Dual ±48 VDC Models Support Industrial and Critical Infrastructure Deployments
Select models with dual ±48 VDC power extend the IOLAN SCR portfolio into telecommunications, utility, power station, railway, and other industrial environments where DC power is standard or conventional AC-powered equipment is not suitable.
Dual power inputs provide resilient power redundancy to help maintain remote console access during a power-source failure. The units also carry electromagnetic compatibility certifications for demanding industrial and critical infrastructure environments, including IEC 61850-3 for utilities, IEEE 1613 for power stations, EN 50121-4 for railway applications, and EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 for industrial environments.
“Secure out-of-band management should be available wherever critical infrastructure operates, regardless of the size or location of the deployment,” said John Feeney, COO at Perle Systems. “With the new IOLAN SCR210 and SCR218 models, dual ±48 VDC options, and SAML 2.0 support across the entire portfolio, customers can apply consistent remote access and identity policies throughout their infrastructure while selecting the port density and power configuration that best fits each site.”
For U.S. and Canadian federal government deployments, Perle also offers designated FIPS 140-3 firmware compliant with this National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standard.
All IOLAN SCR Console Servers include the integrated PerleARMOR™ security shield, Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP), full IPv4 and IPv6 routing, VRRP failover, and LACP link aggregation. Together, these capabilities help network administrators securely deploy, access, and manage critical infrastructure across remote and distributed locations.
Every model also supports advanced automation by running custom applications, including Python scripts, inside embedded virtual machines or native Docker containers. This gives organizations the flexibility to address specialized or evolving use cases while maintaining low-latency, local responsiveness.
Optional cellular connectivity provides an independent path to remote equipment and supports predictive failover between wired and wireless management connections, helping administrators maintain access when the primary network becomes unavailable.
