Toronto set to host global geospatial sciences congress this July

From 4-11 July, the XXV ISPRS Congress and 47th Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing (CSRS) will bring together scientists, technologists and industry decision-makers from around the world in Toronto. This will be one of the most significant gatherings in the geospatial sector’s calendar this year.

Running under the theme From Imagery to Understanding, the 2026 congress has attracted nearly 1,800 submissions spanning both cutting-edge research and applied sessions. This signals strong momentum across the photogrammetry, remote sensing and spatial information sciences sector.

The eight-day programme of ISPRS 2026 is built for depth and breadth. Alongside plenary keynote sessions and ISPRS award presentations, attendees will have access to contributions from more than 50 ISPRS scientific working groups, 28 thematic sessions on emerging topics, and 11 CSRS invited sessions. Twelve forum sessions will convene speakers and panellists from academia, industry and government, providing valuable cross-sector perspectives on the issues shaping the field.

Technology and innovation hub

For business delegates, the commercial exhibition and dedicated industry technology sessions and lightning talks will offer direct insight into the latest innovations from leading sector players. Eighteen expert-led tutorials covering both emerging and foundational areas round out a programme designed to deliver tangible professional value.

The location adds further strategic appeal. Toronto is a globally connected metropolis and a recognized technology and innovation hub, offering strong infrastructure and international accessibility for delegates travelling from across the world. The city’s concurrent role as a 2026 FIFA World Cup host also presents a timely opportunity for networking and client engagement beyond the congress floor.

Delegates requiring travel documentation should visit the ISPRS website for visa guidance, including direct links to Canada’s IRCC portal. With its combination of high-calibre content, cross-industry reach and a world-class host city, ISPRS 2026 represents a compelling opportunity for any organization with a stake in the future of geospatial intelligence.

The ISPRS 2026 Congress in Toronto brings together the Earth Observation, GeoAI and geospatial communities.
