TWD97 Coordinates Update Forum Ended Successfully

Ministry of the Interior held the forum on the TWD97 coordinates update at the NLSC, Taichung City on Oct. 28, 2011. The present situation of the TWD97 coordinate system, analyses to the coordinate results of the existing control points on the basis of satellite tracking stations coordinates, update of the geodetic datum, and the principle of the settings of the additional 1st order satellite control points were presented by the NLSC. The coordinate differences of the control points within the disaster areas after the Typhoon Morakot in the southern Taiwan, and those that located to the northern Taiwan which were measured by the NLSC were also raised in the forum for public discussion.
