Optimal GEO Announces the Appointment of Two Geospatial Industry Veterans to the Management Team

Andy Freckmann comes aboard as Program Director and will oversee all Business Development activities at Optimal GEO.  “Andy is a strong addition to the Optimal GEO team,” said Mark Brooks, Chief Operating Officer for Optimal GEO. “With a great deal of insight in various aspects of the remote sensing and GIS markets, Andy will help us expand our federal geospatial footprint and build upon our current success.”  Freckmann has 15 years’ experience in the geospatial market, most recently as a Federal Program Manager with Critigen.  Prior to Critigen he held Business Development and Project Management roles with SAIC at the Department of Homeland Security’s Geospatial Management Office, as well as with Fugro EarthData, GeoDecisions, and Booz Allen.

“Optimal GEO is held very highly by their clients for their focus on quality and being easy to work with. I look forward to working with the team to help magnify the visibility of Optimal GEO within the DoD and Intel geospatial communities and expand the growth and success of the company,” said Freckmann.

Lane Mousel also comes aboard the Optimal GEO team where he will lead Optimal’s GEOINT programs and help move the company into the future.  Mousel brings 39 years’ experience at Intergraph Corporation and the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) where he served as an analyst, systems engineer, engineering manager, and program manager.  Lane’s objective is to heighten Optimal GEO’s performance and opportunities in the GEOINT marketplace. “I believe there is a real opportunity for Optimal GEO to capitalize on their reputation and outstanding past performance.  They have a very talented and innovative core staff that serves well as a foundation of growth,” said Mousel.

“I’m very excited to work with Andy and Lane, not only to diversify our success and bring more guidance and expertise to our clients, but to continue our plan of growing the company with good people, dedicated to doing the right thing for our clients,” said John Merritt, Vice President for Optimal GEO.

Optimal GEO, Inc. is a small business geospatial firm that specializes in GIS, remote sensing and GEOINT data development, collection, distribution and visualization.
