Teledyne Optech Unveils the Ultra-light Maverick for Mobile Asset Mapping

Teledyne Optech is excited to announce the release of its Maverick mobile mapping system. Light enough to be worn on a backpack, the Maverick sets a high bar for size, portability and versatility in mobile asset mapping.

Weighing in at less than 9 kg, the Maverick integrates a lidar, a 360° camera, and an INS into an extremely small form factor that is easy to install, while maintaining the data quality that users expect from a Teledyne Optech system. Never has accurate, mobile asset data been so accessible.

“With the Maverick our goal is to make asset data accessible and extremely easy to collect and distribute,” said Albert Iavarone, Business Unit Manager at Teledyne Optech. “The Maverick is an amazing little device. It can be mounted on a variety of platforms including a backpack or Segway, and its low power requirement means that you can power it from a vehicle’s cigarette lighter or with the optional battery pack. Wireless connectivity means that there are no wires on the system at all. Executing a mobile asset data collect is now as easy as checking the sensor/universal mount as baggage at the airport, catching your flight, and using your rental car to start collection minutes after you land. Operationally it’s a game changer. With all of that plus a great price, we are very excited.”

The Maverick will be unveiled at the INTERGEO 2016 trade fair and conference in booth A4.002 in hall A4. System deliveries are available immediately.
