Sodex Innovations launches SDX-AutoScan, giving Trimble Earthworks customers automatic daily as-builts from their dozers

SDX-AutoScan uses the Trimble positioning system already on the machine and syncs 3D site models to Trimble Connect, so site documentation becomes a byproduct of normal work

Lorüns, Austria – November 5, 2026 – Sodex Innovations announces the launch of SDX-AutoScan for TrimbleⓇ Earthworks grade control platform on bulldozers. Announced ahead of Trimble Dimensions, the 3D lidar system integrates with existing Trimble GNSS/INS positioning to produce continuous as-built terrain records during normal bulldozer operation. This avoids the need to install a second positioning system or manage a separate platform.

The solution captures centimeter-accurate, high-resolution point clouds with no operator input. This data syncs to SDX-Cloud, Sodex Innovations’ cloud software, at short intervals for up-to-date 3D site models in the office. These models are also made available in the Trimble ConnectⓇ platform and Trimble WorksManager site management software, so site and project managers can check as-builts, volumes, and progress each day in a platform they already use.

SDX-AutoScan enables contractors to expedite their billing cycles, reduce the time to discover deviations from plans or quoted volumes, and monitor progress of earthworks and civil engineering projects.

“In many markets, the bulldozer is the workhorse of the site. Being able to easily add intelligent capabilities to the machine saves money on labor and the cost of decisions made on outdated data,” said Ralf Pfefferkorn, CEO of Sodex Innovations.

“Similar to the SDX-4DVision system for excavators, SDX-AutoScan leverages Trimble’s positioning technologies with Sodex Innovations’ reality capture hardware and cloud data processing to automatically produce 3D site terrain maps.”

“The streamlined workflow from SDX-Cloud to Trimble Connect makes adoption easy for existing Trimble Earthworks customers, integrating directly into a platform they already use in their daily operations,” said Maximilian Fenkart, CTO of Sodex Innovations.

“We are unifying best-in-class technology via the Trimble Connect platform to deliver enhanced productivity across every phase of the design-build-operate lifecycle,” said Edoardo Rizzi, vice president of product at Trimble. “By enabling seamless data flow from Sodex’s automated scanning directly into Trimble Connect, we’re helping customers unlock greater value from their spatial data and accelerate digital transformation on the jobsite.”

Trimble Dimensions attendees can find Sodex Innovations at Booth 733, and see Sodex-equipped machines at the Offsite Expo.
