Bluesky Launches National Clutter Map to Boost Telecoms Network Planning

Bluesky International, a Woolpert Company, has launched a new Great Britain-wide 50m Clutter Map, delivering consistent 2.5D surface intelligence designed to support telecommunications network planning, signal modelling, and rollout optimisation.

The 50m Clutter Map describes the type and height of surface features that influence radio signal propagation, providing a consistent nationwide baseline for network planning and analysis.

The dataset classifies the landscape into built, vegetation and water categories, enriched with height bands to better represent the vertical characteristics of the environment across Great Britain.

Designed specifically for radio-frequency (RF) modelling, the dataset provides a consistent, nationwide view of the physical environment, enabling effective coverage prediction, line-of-sight analysis and network planning at scale. Derived from contemporary geospatial datasets, it offers an up-to-date and consistent foundation for modern network planning requirements.
