Esri’s Jack Dangermond Honored with Award from International Fund for China’s Environment

  • Esri president Jack Dangermond received the 30 Years of International Green Development Influential Figures Award from the International Fund for China’s Environment (IFCE).
  • IFCE is a major international nonprofit environmental organization that promotes cooperation between governments, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and business.
  • The award recognizes Dangermond’s innovation and decades of contribution to sustainability, conservation, and green development.

REDLANDS, California–June 10, 2026—At the 2026 Shanghai Green Development Innovation Summit Forum, the International Fund for China’s Environment (IFCE) recognized Esri president Jack Dangermond with the 30 Years of International Green Development Influential Figures Award. Created to coincide with IFCE’s 30th anniversary, the award is presented to leaders who have made outstanding achievements in addressing climate change and advancing sustainable development over the past 30 years.

“I am humbled and honored to receive this award from such a distinguished organization,” said Esri president Jack Dangermond. “Since 1969, Esri has been focused on applying geographic analysis and computer mapping to more deeply understand the world and design a better, more sustainable future.”

The IFCE committee acknowledged Dangermond’s innovative perspective as well as his decades of rigorous contributions to the fields of sustainability and green development across the planet. The committee also noted Dangermond’s leadership in the growing field of geodesign and his work to curate and share global environmental data through ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World.

Dangermond has been honored by other organizations in the past for his work around conservation, sustainability, and environmental protection. In 2013, he received the Champions of the Earth Award from the United Nations, and in 2015, he was awarded the Audubon Medal.
