Electric Cities of Georgia Becomes a GISCI Endorsing Employer

Des Plaines, IL (April 24, 2026) — The GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) is pleased to announce that the Electric Cities of Georgia (ECG) has been recognized as a GISCI Endorsing Employer, demonstrating its commitment to professional excellence, ethical practice, and the advancement of the geospatial profession.

As a GISCI Endorsing Employer, Electric Cities of Georgia (ECG) affirms the value of the Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP®) certification and actively supports the professional development of its GIS staff. The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) group at ECG provides essential spatial intelligence and analytical support to its member communities. By leveraging advanced data modeling and visualization, ECG transforms complex datasets into actionable insights that drive local growth and operational efficiency.

“At ECG, we view the GISCI Endorsing Employer program as a critical extension of our commitment to excellence in geospatial practice,” said Sheri Braddick, – Sr. Human Resource Director. “By aligning with GISCI’s rigorous professional standards, we reinforce our dedication to developing highly- qualified GIS professionals and delivering work that is accurate, ethical, and forward-thinking. This endorsement not only supports the growth of our GIS team but also strengthens the trust our members place in us to provide reliable, data-driven solutions to complex challenges.”

The GISCI Endorsing Employer Program highlights organizations that encourage GISP® certification, uphold the GISCI Code of Ethics, and recognize the role of certified professionals in supporting sound decision-making and public service. Participation in the program reflects an employer’s acknowledgement of GIS’s critical role in infrastructure planning, public safety, economic development, and community engagement.

GISCI’s Endorsing Employer Program continues to grow as public- and private-sector organizations across the country recognize the value of certified GIS professionals and the importance of ethical, competent geospatial practice.
