Geovio platform enhanced by EMIS-Planet Labs partnership

EMIS and Planet Labs have announced the integration of Planet data into EMIS’s Geovio platform. This strategic partnership aims to enhance geospatial monitoring and analysis capabilities across the EMEA region. EMIS is a prominent geospatial intelligence company established in 1997 in Trnava, Slovakia, while Planet Labs is a leading provider of daily Earth data and insights.

With over two decades of industry experience, EMIS has earned its reputation as a trusted partner to government bodies such as the Ministry of Transport, the National Road Administration Agency, and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Slovak Republic. The company’s cutting-edge approach to spatial data collection optimization has been recognized through European Union-funded research and development initiatives. Simultaneously, EMIS has provided valuable services to commercial sectors including agriculture, utilities and infrastructure.

Data-driven decisions

The integration of PlanetScope data into Geovio is set to empower organizations throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa to monitor and analyse infrastructure and agricultural fields with an unmatched level of detail and frequency. Users can now track changes – such as bridge deformations – and optimize resource allocation, enabling data-driven decisions like targeted irrigation, thanks to Geovio’s advanced image analysis capabilities.

“This partnership with Planet represents a significant advancement in our ability to serve organizations monitoring infrastructure and agriculture across the EMEA region,” said Yury Vlasov, COO of EMIS. “By integrating PlanetScope’s daily imagery with Geovio’s analysis tools, professionals across various industries will have access to our suite of tools to make informed decisions based on up-to-date data.”

Planet operates the largest fleet of Earth observation satellites in history, with hundreds currently in orbit. These satellites capture images of every land-based location on Earth nearly every day, creating an extensive and unprecedented dataset. This data can be leveraged by organizations to monitor environmental changes, identify patterns, and optimize resource management across various sectors, including agriculture, infrastructure, urban planning and disaster response.

Through this partnership, Geovio users will gain seamless access to PlanetScope data directly through the platform’s intuitive interface. The integration will allow users to combine Planet’s high-frequency satellite data with other sources supported by Geovio, such as drone imagery, multispectral, thermal data and SAR, delivering a comprehensive analysis view for a wide range of applications.
