Vexcel Imaging announces Vexcel Open Day India in Bangalore in October

Bangalore, India • June 11, 2024: India is currently undergoing one of its greatest transformations, driven largely by the latest rapidly evolving technologies, particularly in its mapping industry. In this exciting context, Vexcel Imaging, in partnership with Hindustan Assistant & Logistic Group (HALG), is thrilled to announce the Vexcel Open Day India, taking place from October 7 to 9, 2024, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Bangalore.

This event aims to provide private companies and government agencies from the Indian subcontinent and Southern Asia with insights into Vexcel’s extensive experience, as well as that of its customers and partners. Attendees will explore the capabilities of aerial surveys for mapping large areas and creating 3D city models using advanced photogrammetry and LiDAR technologies. International speakers who have undergone similar transformations will share their career paths, experiences, and the challenges they have overcome. Additionally, the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore will present their scientific perspective and partner with us on this event.

Exclusive to the Vexcel Open Day India, a sample dataset from the new UltraCam Dragon 4.1, Vexcel’s first hybrid aerial mapping system, will be captured over Bangalore. Participants will have hands-on access to this state-of-the-art camera and LiDAR system. For a nominal fee, there will also be an opportunity to participate in a flight session using the UltraCam Dragon 4.1, allowing attendees to experience its operational capabilities firsthand and collect data.

The three-day event will feature expert-led sessions and practical workshops covering flight planning with TOPOFLIGHT, UltraCam system operation, and image post-processing with the UltraMap software Suite from Vexcel. There will also be workshops on LiDAR technology of the integrated RIEGL VQ-680 OEM laser scanner and LiDAR data processing using RIEGL software and true 3D city model generation with RhinoTerrain. In addition to these, there are many more presentations and workshops scheduled throughout the event, providing a diverse range of topics and interactive sessions. Attendees will be well catered for throughout the event.

The aim of Vexcel and HALG with this event is to support the Indian mapping industry during its significant growth and to help flatten the learning curve for both data suppliers and end-customers. Moreover, the event provides an excellent opportunity for networking and learning from experts in photogrammetry and LiDAR technologies. It aims to expand participants’ knowledge and foster collaborative opportunities.

Attendance is free of charge. Registration is now open, and interested participants can sign up via our landing page. Attendees with valid registration confirmation will receive an attractive discount on room bookings at the Four Seasons Hotel.
