GeoSLAM adds real-time data capture feedback to ZEB Horizon

The leading handheld mobile mapping system from GeoSLAM, the ZEB Horizon, is now available with real-time feedback on data capture.

The ZEB Horizon RT is compatible with most mobile devices, which attaches to the back of the handheld ZEB Horizon scanner, and generates a preview of the point cloud in real-time, ensuring complete coverage of a mapped area.

The user-friendly interface gives users confidence that all areas of a scan site have been captured before finishing and leaving a job. Data can be viewed in full by processing in GeoSLAM Connect.

Users who opt for real-time systems benefit from:

  • Route planning: a live trajectory shows where users have walked, making it easy to see the areas already scanned.
  • Quality control: real-time provides users with the confidence that an entire area is mapped.
  • SLAM Condition Indicator: real-time feedback in the web interface provides users with greater confidence of their current capturing conditions.

Commenting on the ZEB Horizon RT announcement, GeoSLAM’s chief product officer, Dr Neil Slatcher, said:

“We’re always on the look-out for ways we can make our customers’ lives easier, enabling them to go further with our technology, so we’re delighted to release this latest update to our already-popular ZEB Horizon. With thousands of the devices in use across the world, we’re confident this will be a popular addition.

“The real-time option for the ZEB Horizon not only provides greater visualisation of data during a scan, but gives users confidence in the field that they are capturing the data they need.”

The ZEB Horizon RT is now available to purchase as a full system, including GeoSLAM’s Connect software. Existing ZEB Horizon customers can also upgrade to the full real-time option.
