Cadasta Foundation Receives Esri’s Sustainable Development Award for Exceptional Achievement at Esri Partner Conference

Washington, D.C. –  Cadasta Foundation received the Esri Sustainable Development Award at the 2022 Esri Partner Conference (EPC) held in Palm Springs, California March 5–7, 2022. This award was presented to Cadasta for helping partners meet global sustainable development goals by understanding their needs, mapping their work, measuring impact, analyzing performance, and engaging stakeholders.

Cadasta supports and collaborates with partners around the world to use Esri’s innovative digital tools and technology to efficiently document, analyze, store and share critical land and resource rights data. Since its founding in 2015, Cadasta has supported 100 partners to document the land and resource rights of more than 5.5 million people, in 43 countries across 3,000 communities to advance land and resource rights.

Esri is the global leader in location intelligence with a network of over 2,700 partners around the world. The award winners are organizations that have demonstrated innovative and creative ways to solve complex problems by using Esri’s ArcGIS software and those who have done exceptional work in advancing geographic information systems (GIS) technology. Cadasta was one of 26 Esri partners that received an achievement award at the conference.

“Esri congratulates Cadasta Foundation on their 2022 EPC award in recognition of their innovative work leveraging ArcGIS software,” said Robert Laudati, Director of Global Partners and Alliances at Esri. “We are proud to partner with Cadasta to foster the use of GIS technology in support of our mutual customers.”

Commenting on the award, Cadasta CEO Amy Coughenour Betancourt said, “Cadasta is thrilled to receive the Esri Sustainable Development Award. Land rights are a foundational, but often overlooked, driver of sustainable development and climate protection. Being recognized by Esri and the broader GIS community for our global work in mapping and securing the land rights of marginalized communities is a true honor. Together we can provide much-needed technology and services that enable the development of stronger, more sustainable communities.”
