Earth observation is the science of modeling and monitoring of the processes on the surface of the planet and their interaction with the Earth’s atmosphere. The planet is constantly monitored using state-of-the-art radar and optical sensors. The images are then processed and analyzed to deliver vital information to public administrations, agencies and individual users. Earth observation at both global and local scales is important for the monitoring of urban growth, estimating ocean salinity and temperature and surface object identification.
