Satellite Imager Shows Ice in Far East Pacific

Due to an aggravated ice situation in the Sea of Okhotsk 3 fishing vessels got stuck in drifting ice. “Suvorovets” rescue tug boat took the “Gutsul” mother fishery ship out of the thick ice on Friday and the “Ekarma-2” fishing boat on Saturday, reports RIA NOVOSTI. Ice channeling of “Sierra” transport ship started today. There is no danger to lives of 144 fishermen on these three ships. During January 27 until February 6, 2012 specialists of ScanEx Research and Development Center have received and processed a series of space images of the Okhotsk Sea waters.  Read More
