GIS Research Center Taiwan – 1st Cloud-based Municipal Works Map Platform

Currently, this platform contains records pertaining to the city’s major construction projects and tender projects, as well as detailed information regarding the progress of each project. In addition, this platform integrates the city’s digital map libraries including urban planning and cadastral map libraries. At the same time, Google historical image browsing technology is applied in conjunction with aerial photos of Taichung City taken at various time periods. This allows city government officials and policymakers to have a clear picture of the city’s development and changes in land use over time.
The information on this platform will gradually be made available to the general public to allow them to participate in and understand the city’s development objectives and progress. At the same time, cloud-based service platforms in the areas of transportation, disaster preparedness, land administration, tourism, public safety and health care will be developed. Read More
