Atlas Copco completes acquisition of Perceptron, a US company specialized in automated metrology

Nacka, Sweden, December 21, 2020: With all regulatory approvals obtained, Atlas Copco has completed the acquisition of Perceptron that was announced September 28th, 2020. Perceptron is a leading supplier of automated metrology solutions headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan, USA

Perceptron has approximately 300 employees. In the fiscal year 2020, ending June 30, Perceptron had revenues of MUSD 62.3 (MSEK 516).

Atlas Copco paid USD 7.00 per share, corresponding to an enterprise value of MUSD 60.8 (MSEK 504), including MUSD 8.2 (MSEK 68) of assumed net cash on hand.
The acquisition is an all-cash transaction utilizing Atlas Copco’s existing funds.

Through Perceptron’s position in automated metrology and vision systems for robot guidance, together with the recent acquisition of ISRA VISION, Atlas Copco is creating a strong offering in machine vision solutions. The customers will receive an increased support in their transition towards smart manufacturing and flexible automation.

Following the completion of the closing, Perceptron becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlas Copco and a part of Atlas Copco’s newly created division Machine Vision Solutions within the Industrial Technique business area. The common stock will no longer be publicly traded and will be delisted from the Nasdaq Global Market.
