ILMF and LIDAR Magazine Name Dewberry as Winner of the Outstanding Enterprise Achievement in LIDAR Award

Dewberry has announced that it has been named as International Lidar Mapping Forum (ILMF) and Lidar Magazine’s 2020 Outstanding Enterprise Achievement in Lidar award recipient. With five award categories, the award recipients were named during the 2020 Lidar Leader Awards virtual event.

Dewberry was nominated by three federal agencies: the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The firm was selected out of more than 100 submissions based on its contributions to the geospatial community. Dewberry’s geospatial team is made up of more than 200 professionals across the nation, many of whom have contributed significantly to the profession. Many of the firm’s experts collaboratively authored and edited the first, second, and third editions of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Digital Elevation Model Technologies and Applications – DEM Users Manual.

“We are honored to receive this award and be recognized among such esteemed organizations in the public and private sector,” says Dewberry Senior Vice President and Director of Remote Sensing Amar Nayegandhi, CP, CMS, GISP. “Our colleagues across the industry have all contributed significantly to the geospatial community and we are excited to continue working alongside them, while ushering in new technologies and best practices to continue pushing the geospatial industry forward.”

“I was especially gratified to present the Outstanding Enterprise Award to Dewberry,” says Lidar Magazine Managing Editor Dr. A. Stewart Walker. “I have previously had the privilege to present the Outstanding Personal Award to Dewberry’s lidar doyen Dr. David Maune, but this one undergirds the strength in depth of the Dewberry lidar team. The firm has made enormous strides in promoting and implementing lidar standards, which is reinforced by ongoing, extensive involvement as a contractor in large lidar projects all across the country. Moreover, Dewberry’s experts have taken the time to publish their findings, so we can all benefit.”
