Kratos Receives $5 Million Sole-Source Contract for Tactical Jet Drone Mission System Integration and Test Work

SAN DIEGO – Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that its Unmanned Systems Division has received a $5 million prime contract for mission system integration and test work associated with its high performance tactical jet drone systems.

Kratos is a leading provider of high performance unmanned aerial drone systems for threat representative target missions to exercise weapon, radar, and other systems; and tactical aerial drone systems for strike/ISR and force multiplication missions. Work under this contract award will be performed primarily at Kratos Unmanned Systems Division (KUSD) facilities in Sacramento, CA.  Due to competitive, customer related and other considerations, no additional information will be provided related to this new contract award.

Steve Fendley, President of Kratos Unmanned Systems Division, said, “As a specialist in jet unmanned aircraft development and production, we pride ourselves on being the “ platform” or “truck,” and being agnostic with respect to the mission systems we are able to integrate/carry/support.  This key contract is another example illustrating our ability to incorporate special (non-Kratos) systems into our growing tactical drone suite and demonstrates the ability for Kratos survivable unmanned jet aircraft to perform as multi-mission UAS.”

Eric DeMarco, President and CEO of Kratos, said, “This contract award is another important step in the missionization and ultimate fielding of Kratos tactical unmanned aerial drone systems.”
