Echodyne to Lead Session on 3D Perimeter Security at Energy Drone + Robotics Summit

HOUSTON – Echodyne, the manufacturer of innovative, high-performance, small electronically scanned array (ESA) radars for government and commercial markets, announced today that they will be leading a session on perimeter security for energy facilities on June 12th at the Energy Drone + Robotics Summit, in Houston. The company will speak about the importance of integrating high-performance radars into existing video management systems for a single view of both air and ground domains within a comprehensive perimeter security system.

The Energy Drone + Robotics Summit will take place at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott. It brings together business and technology leaders from the UAV/AUV/Robotics ecosystem with energy industrial complex asset owners and end users to discuss UAV/Robotics operations in the energy industry. This includes discussion of how energy facilities can respond to the emerging security threat posed by drones.

Mr. Darrick Felise, Commercial Sales Director, will speak at 1pm in the session entitled “Modern Energy Facility Perimeter Security.” He will discuss the importance of incorporating high-performance radars into critical infrastructure perimeter security to protect against the new airborne threat from drones. He will detail how Echodyne has integrated its high-performance radar data into Video Management Systems (VMS) via a middleware layer to provide comprehensive single-pane-of-glass security operations that minimizes false alarms via machine-learning classification and integrated identification of objects of interest in the airspace.

“Current video management systems on the market are limited in their ability to address new kinds of airborne perimeter threats, like drones,” Felise said. “Echodyne’s compact high-performance radars offer a new level of perimeter situational awareness to protect against the next generation of security threats.”
