Airborne International Response Team (AIRT) Teams with Motorola Solutions to Present 2nd Annual UAS DRONES Disaster Conference on April 11-12 in Miami

The Airborne International Response Team (AIRT), a Florida-registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has teamed up with Motorola Solutions, a global leader in mission-critical communications, to present the 2019 UAS DRONES Disaster Conference (UASDISCON) at Florida International University (FIU) on April 11-12.

In its second year, the UAS DRONES Disaster Conference series unites stakeholders from public safety, emergency management, government, industry, and academia to explore the evolving role of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) – also known as “drones” – for public safety and disaster response missions. The Miami UASDISCON event will focus heavily on how drones were used during the 2018 response and recovery efforts surrounding Hurricanes Florence and Michael, as well as other significant incidents.

“Public safety agencies are quickly embracing drones as a revolutionary tool offering a new set of capabilities to help in disaster and recovery efforts,” says Daniel Sanchez, Florida Sales Manager for Motorola Solutions. “We look forward to working with AIRT and FIU to help expand the knowledge surrounding the use of unmanned systems for emergencies and disasters.”

The UAS DRONES Disaster Conference in Miami will offer a robust, 2-day content program comprised of expert presentations, panel workshops, exhibits, and live UAS flight demonstrations showcasing the latest public safety drone technology. Conference participants will develop a better understanding of unmanned aircraft systems, the benefits they offer, and how to integrate UAS technology with other systems. Through their sponsorship, Motorola Solutions will offer special conference pricing to public safety and emergency response personnel who desire to attend the conference.

“The Motorola Solutions brand embodies a long legacy of successful innovation surrounding public safety and emergency communications,” says Christopher Todd, Executive Director of the Airborne International Response Team (AIRT). “This sponsorship represents a new milestone as we look to expand the UAS DRONES Disaster Conference series throughout the U.S. and internationally.”

Proceeds from the UAS DRONES Disaster Conference series will benefit the Airborne International Response Team (AIRT), a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-governmental organization that provides unmanned aviation and aerospace capabilities to help people prepare for, respond to, and recover from complex emergencies and major disasters.

Registration for the UAS DRONES Disaster Conference in Miami is now open with special early bird ticket pricing available through March 31 or while supplies last. Public safety and emergency management attendees who register via miami.uasdrones.org before March 31 will receive the special price of $125, representing over 50% off the normal conference pass price. Motorola Solutions customers are encouraged to contact their local representative to learn more about special conference pricing available for public safety and enterprise customers.

Additional conference presenters will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information on UAS DRONES Disaster Conference Miami please visit http://miami.uasdrones.org or contact Martha Donato at mdonato(at)uasdrones.org
