111th Group Aerial Photo Using New HP DesignJet Z Printer

The 111th Group, an aerial photography specialist, has deployed a new HP DesignJet Z6 PostScript Printer to deliver in-house professional color prints to meet client demands for fast turnaround and vibrant photography.

HP DesignJet Z6 is designed for simple and fast output for high-quality, high-definition Large Format photo printing with consistent image quality.

In business since 1994, the San Martin, California-based 111th Group photographs for construction progress photography, commercial real estate, mapping, aerial surveys, GIS, and more.

“In our business a printer needs to be great, because a client needs to know the colors are going to be accurate, and it is going to be a nice sharp image,” said Julie Belanger, founder and vice president, The 111th Group. “The HP Z6 accurately reproduces colors. I don’t need to keep tweaking it.”

Where possible, 111th manages the entire production workflow – from flights to cameras to printed output to get the quality right, and to control turnaround times. “Delighting the customer, that has to be in our hands. When customers want quality, and they need it quick I can’t be relying on third parties,” added Belanger.

HP DesignJet Z6 and Z9+ printers, offered in both 24- and 44-inch formats, are built to give PSPs a competitive edge with breakthrough imaging innovation. Dual drop technology delivers prints with clear details and high-contrast color, while HP Pixel Control manages colors in a truly digital way to help customers embrace new opportunities for color-rich and dynamic printing.

HP Vivid Photo Inks provide water-resistant, fade-resistant prints for long-term indoor display and, when printed on suitable water-resistant media, outdoor display.

The printers also offer an option for an onboard vertical trimmer for fast and efficient production.
