Quantum Spatial Wins Energy Thought Summit (ETS) Pilot Pitch Competition for Most Innovative Solution for Energy and Utility Companies

Quantum Spatial, Inc. (QSI), the nation’s largest independent geospatial data firm, today announced that QSI won Zpryme’s start@ETS pilot pitch competition for having the most compelling, innovative solution for energy and utility companies. Hosted by Zpryme, a research agency within the energy industry, start@ETS provides a platform for utilities to tackle industry challenges through innovation by bringing together startups and utilities that are looking to address the most pressing issues facing the energy industry.

“Modernizing the electric grid is one of the most important infrastructure projects we need to tackle as a country since it is one of the pillars of our economy and quality of life,” said Anand Iyer, senior vice president of Products and Services for QSI. “We are extremely proud that InSITE Pole Manager was named as the most compelling solution and we are also proud to be a part of the thriving innovation culture in this sector. Innovation is an active grassroots value at QSI, not just a corporate program. We also congratulate all the finalists for their contributions to this vital sector.”

During the pilot pitch competition, QSI’s Product Managers Matt Nugent and Camille Westlake , Professional Services Director Eric Merten, and Analyst Katie Weatherhead presented inSITE Pole Manager, a cloud-based product which uses LiDAR data and spherical imagery to perform an automated utility pole inspection for clearance analysis or utility pole loading. Poles that fail to meet specifications are flagged and detailed measurements or analysis can be reviewed. The product includes detailed pole measurements, 3D visualizations, and integration with industry standard engineering software within a robust geospatial application.

inSITE Pole Manager is currently under development and scheduled for release in Q4. For more information about inSITE Pole Manager, contact Matt Nugent, QSI Product Manager via email at mnugent (at) quantumspatial (dot) com.
