Blue Marble Geographics Announces Dynamic Speakers for Upcoming User Conference in Maine

Hallowell, Maine – Blue Marble Geographics today announced the keynote speakers for its 25th anniversary Blue Marble User Conference (BMUC) as it made plans to welcome several of its international partners to this Maine-hosted event. Scheduled to take place on September 21st in Portland, the conference will feature Ron Chapple, cinematographer and CEO of Aerial Filmworks, and Larry Mayer, distinguished marine geologist and Director of the University of New Hampshire School of Marine Science and Ocean Engineering.

Ron will share some behind-the-scenes insights on the making of the Pulitzer Prize-winning USA Today documentary “The Wall”, which explores the impact of the controversial proposed structure between the U.S. and Mexico. Larry will deliver a presentation on the technological advancements that played a key role in the underwater discoveries of 3,000-meter high mountains in the Arctic, D-day wrecks, and the behavior of whales.

BMUC is an annual gathering of geospatial professionals representing a wide variety of industry sectors, government departments, and academic institutions who share a common interest in Blue Marble’s GIS and geodetic technology. Typically held in various locations throughout the year, BMUC offers attendees an opportunity to gain insight into product plans and useful tips for optimizing the use of its software products.

Representatives from Blue Marble’s worldwide partner network will also be attending the day-long conference. Traveling from several countries throughout the world, such as South Africa and Brazil, these resellers promote and sell Blue Marble’s geospatial software and software development kits to a global audience.

“The Blue Marble User Conference is one of the most important events on our calendar,” stated Patrick Cunningham, Blue Marble President. “It not only provides a forum for our customers to learn about the latest product developments, but it offers us an opportunity to hear from users about new functionality they would like to see added the software. We are especially excited that Larry and Ron will be sharing their stories at the event in Portland and we are also looking forward to rolling out the Maine welcome mat for our overseas partners.”

BMUC is open to both Blue Marble customers and non-customers alike. Space is limited and registration is required. For more information, visit: bluemarblegeo.com/bmuc
