Orbit Logic Scheduling Software Selected for NASA Wallops Ground Station

GREENBELT, MD  – Orbit Logic announced today that Kratos Defense Systems has selected Orbit Logic for software and services, including Orbit Logic’s STK Scheduler software, to modernize and enhance the scheduling solution for the NASA Wallops Atmospheric Sciences Research Facility (ASRF) Smallsat Ground Station (ASGS).  Orbit Logic is teamed with Kratos Defense Systems on a contract to provide an enhanced ground equipment solution for the 18-meter ASGS antenna based on commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and software products.  Orbit Logic’s delivered software will include STK Scheduler for contact deconfliction and schedule optimization, STK Pro for system modeling, and STK Scheduler Online Viewer, a web application providing online schedule dissemination for ASGS satellite operator users.

Kratos is providing its quantumCMD product for satellite command and control and system monitoring and control, quantumFEP for transmit signal formatting and encryption and receive signal framesync and decryption, and quantumRADIO (a software-defined radio) for modulation and encoding of the transmit signal and demodulation and decoding of the receive signal.  Kratos and Orbit Logic will integrate Orbit Logic’s STK Scheduler software with Kratos quantumCMD software for the Wallops ASGS solution.

“The combined Orbit Logic/Kratos solution provides Wallops operators with improved configurability and automation in both scheduling and pass execution, which will help support the increasing number of satellites utilizing the antenna.” said Alex Herz, Orbit Logic president. “At the same time as we help increase antenna mission support capacity, the solution will reduce the Wallops ASGS operator workload.”

Orbit Logic (www.orbitlogic.com) specializes in mission planning and scheduling solutions for aerospace and geospatial intelligence. Orbit Logic’s operationally proven COTS products create better plans faster with fewer resources for all mission phases. Orbit Logic services are available to configure, customize, and integrate Orbit Logic’s mobile, web-based, desktop, and flight software applications to provide turn-key operational solutions that leverage the latest available technologies to meet customer goals and exceed their expectations.
