Mappedin Announces Support for Apple Indoor Maps

KITCHENER, Ontario- Mappedin, the leading indoor mapping SaaS platform, today announced its collaboration with Apple to offer indoor mapping services in select malls across the U.S.

Launching with iOS 11 this fall, and previewed on stage at last week’s WWDC, Apple Maps will provide detailed maps of hundreds of major airports and shopping centers around the world. Premium mall owners such as Simon Property Group, rely on Mappedin to deliver the highest quality and up to date data, allowing shoppers to navigate seamlessly through indoor locations with the same ease and accuracy as the outdoors.

After the launch of iOS 11, mapping updates made within Mappedin’s platform will be reflected on the Apple Maps experience, enabling malls to keep their property data accurate.

“In order for brick and mortar to evolve, the physical shopping experience must embody enhanced digital engagement. The ability for shoppers to navigate a mall within Apple Maps is a testament to not only the evolution of the physical shopping experience, but also Apple’s commitment to providing its customers with a digital-first experience wherever they are,” said Hongwei Liu, Co-founder and CEO, Mappedin. “We’re excited to collaborate with Apple to redefine how shoppers navigate and interact with mall properties, and look forward to a future of seamless indoor navigation everywhere.”

Mappedin’s goal is to make the indoors discoverable by providing software solutions to property owners and operators to manage their dynamic spaces, enabling an always accurate search and navigation experience for their visitors.
