Loveland Innovations Secures First Patent for IMGING Drone Solution

ALPINE, Utah —  Loveland Innovations®, maker of advanced drone solutions for the P&C Insurance industry, announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued it a new patent associated with its insurance-focused autonomous drone inspection solution, IMGING™.

The patent is the first to cover technology related to IMGING, and comes just weeks following IMGING’s general launch. With this patent secured, Loveland Innovations cements its position as a leading provider of drone technology for the Insurance industry.

“We’re extremely proud of the groundbreaking technology our team has been able to build, and we’re excited by how quickly we’ve secured our first patent for IMGING,” says Jim Loveland, CEO and founder of Loveland Innovations. “This patent is one more step toward changing the roof and property inspection process for the better. We also have numerous additional patents pending that clearly demonstrate our commitment to innovation for the Insurance industry.”

The patent for invention number 9,639,960 relates to Loveland Innovations’ clever use of advanced drone-based image capturing techniques for roof and property scans as well as innovative in-app technologies that allow insurance professionals to sort, manage and assign inspection jobs to inspectors in the field. With these and many other features, this now-patented technology promises faster, safer and more consistent roof and property inspections for inspectors, contractors and other Insurance professionals.

“Seeing our ideas grow, get traction then gain a patent is really exciting for our team,” says Leif Larson, CTO of Loveland Innovations. “Each new patent is proof of our team’s creative power and passion for creating true technology solutions. We’re pleased to get the first patent under our belts but we’ll continue to focus on the next wave of our great technology.”

The IMGING solution is capable of delivering 1/10 centimeter squared image resolution using off-the-shelf DJI Phantom 4 Pro drones, and its patented flight control does it all automatically and quickly with rigorous consistency across an entire roof.
