Kinetica and Safe Software Partner to Give Customers Access to Geospatial and 350+ Other Data Sources

SAN FRANCISCO- Kinetica, provider of the fastest, in-memory analytics database accelerated by GPUs, today announced it has partnered with Safe Software and created FME connectors that read and write data from Kinetica into and out of FME workspaces. Kinetica and Safe Software joint customers are now able to ingest, analyze, visualize and publish data between hundreds of business applications, web services, databases and file formats, including geospatial data for real-time location-based analytics.

FME customers will now be able to move their data into Kinetica’s cutting-edge, GPU-accelerated database to perform real-time analytics of large and streaming datasets. FME 2017 can now read and write to Kinetica, including geometry data, allowing data to be transformed and manipulated in FME workflows. This gives Kinetica customers integrated access to more than 350 data formats such as KML, GeoJSON, and OGC WKT (well-known text) as well as the data transformation power of FME. With the Kinetica Writer for FME, customers can use the rendering power of Kinetica to display point and polygon data. Depending on the data, points can even be displayed as heatmaps, symbologies, or tracks. Data can also be integrated into Kinetica for machine learning, deep learning, OLAP and advanced location-based analytics.

“Kinetica’s GPU-accelerated database leveraging FME data lets customers such as an electric & gas provider propel projects forward. Kinetica operates as an agile layer with 3rd-party data such as Esri ArcGIS data from FME, to monitor, manage and predict infrastructure health,” said Chris Prendergast, VP of Business Development and Alliances at Kinetica. “Kinetica allows the utility to analyze, model and ingest multiple data feeds, including location data for their field deployed assets, into a single centralized data ‘store.’”

“We are excited to partner with Kinetica,” said Dale Lutz, co-founder of Safe Software. “Not only are we increasing data accessibility for Kinetica customers, but we’re also giving FME customers access to another great database.”

Safe Software is the maker of FME, the leading spatial data transformation technology that powers the ArcGIS Data Interoperability Extension. Tightly integrated with ArcGIS, FME enables users to extract, transform, load, integrate, validate, and share data without coding. FME extends the power of ArcGIS by providing integration with 345+ formats including GIS, CAD, database, 3D, raster, XML and cloud. Since 1993, FME has helped thousands of customers worldwide leverage their data so it can be used exactly where, when, and how it’s needed.
