GITA Welcomes New Board Members

St. Paul, Minnesota, February, 2017 – The Geospatial Information and Technology Association (GITA) is excited to welcome five new members to its Board of Directors.  All five will serve as “at-large” members filling recent vacancies by Talbot Brooks, Eric Hoogenraad, and Rebecca Shumate.

Newly installed members are:

Sean Bruce, MBA, PMP; Director of Project Delivery for Global Information Systems.  Sean’s career has included positions with RLG International, Midland Mortgage, Deloitte Consulting, and the US Air Force.  Affiliations include the BYU Management Society, The Boy Scouts of America, American Legion and the VFW.

Troy Bumgardner, GISP; GIS Business Analyst, IT Operations Services for Williams.  Prior to employment with Williams, Troy was employed by MarkWest Energy Partners, Contracting and Consulting Services, and Superior Pipeline.  Troy has served as an Adjunct GIS Professor at Tulsa Community College and also volunteers as a Cubmaster for the Boy Scouts.

Drew Fioranelli, GISP; GIS Director Fauquier County, Virginia.  Drew’s career with GIS in local governments has included the City of Asheboro, NC.  He has also served as an Intelligence Analyst with the United States Marine Corps through Lockheed Martin, a GITA volunteer, and as a Board member for the American Public Works Association’s Technology Division.

Michael Mirobell, GISP; GIS Team Lead, Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation.  Mike started his career mapping archaeological sites and survey areas.  Prior geospatial positions have been with Mountaineer Keystone, EXCO Resources, and Dominion Delivery.  Mike’s affiliations include:  founding member Appalachia Petroleum User Group, member of the Association of Petroleum Surveying & Geomatics, GITA EnerGIS Conference Committee.

Jacob Parakadan, MBA, PMP; Director, Operations Business Systems, Spectra Energy.  Jacob’s career included implementation of AM/FM/GIS systems for utilities and pipeline customers around the world.  His time with Spectra has included roles in IT and as a manager for asset information services before taking on his current position as Director, Operational Business Systems.  Jacob is an active local, national, and international GIS community member.  He also volunteers with GITA on committees and as a speaker, along with memberships in INGAA, API, and PODS.

Matthew Thomas of Norvara GeoSolutions assumes the position of President for the next two years.  Terry Strahan, Qualitylink GIS Solutions, LLC has assumed the position of Secretary, and Elizabeth Bialek,

Engineering Manager, East Bay Municipal Utility District continues her responsibilities as Treasurer.  Mark Limbruner, GISP, Range Resources remains on the Board as Past-President.
