The Highway Authority of Indonesia Chose SuperGIS Desktop 10

Supergeo is pleased to announce that its brand-new Desktop GIS software- SuperGIS Desktop 10 was recently selected by the Directorate General of Highways (DGH) of Indonesia to map and analyze spatial data.

Under Ministry of Public Works, Indonesia, the Directorate General of Highways is responsible for planning, building, and managing national road networks. Because a reliable and sustainable road network is a key factor for economic development, it is an important and also challenging task to ensure the quality, the accessibility, and the capacity of national highways.

SuperGIS Desktop 10 is the latest desktop GIS software released by Supergeo Product Team, which has significantly improved the performance and also equips with numerous new features. With new features such as LiDAR Tool and Temporal Slider, users can integrate and display latest data formats with other GIS data, exploring the data in a more detailed way. For a highway authority like DGH, transportation experts can examine the trend of traffic accidents by splitting the data into different periods and displaying with Temporal Slider. After finding the pattern, government officials can improve current road networks to reduce the number of accidents. Furthermore, the SuperGIS Desktop also has an extension called Network Analyst, which can greatly help transportation planning. In the Network Analyst 10, users can apply the origin-destination matrix (O-D matrix) to find the best site for building a new transportation facility. In short, SuperGIS Desktop 10 can help highway authorities or other transportation institutes to make smarter policies.
