map.apps Improves Desktop and Mobile Capabilities

Support for various platforms and end-user devices is one of the outstanding features of map.apps 3.0. Based on its dual objectives of minimising development and maintenance costs for the customer applications and transporting updates immediately to the user without the need for installation, map.apps 3.0 now reflects even more the precepts of responsive design. map.apps reacts to the environment in the user’s device (including the operating system, screen size, and orientation) and adapts user interfaces to ensure the best possible usability for a respective operating environment. Now there is no more need for multiple expenditures in adding support for several platforms as is the case with native apps; the same applies to the often considerable cost of publishing the products in the various app stores.

map.apps 3.0 also features highly extensive integration in the Esri online platforms ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Marketplace. Further features are map tips, reporting and exporting functions, extensive possibilities for connecting to social media channels, and spatial bookmarking, which allows fast navigation of both predefined and user-specified spatial areas of interest.
