Leica iCON: Completing Jobs Faster with iCONstruct Field’s New Slope Application

iCONstruct field v1.7 improves the construction workflow with the Leica iCON CC50 and CC60/61 field controllers, as well as the Leica iCON gps 60 and iCON robot 50 positioning sensors.

‘Slopes’ application for batter boards

The new ‘Slopes’ application for batter boards is available for the iCON build and iCON site software for iCON gps 60 and iCON robot 50 both running on all iCON field controllers. Based on points or lines, all slope elements can flexibly be defined without the need to load additional data. This allows users to quickly define slopes and react on design changes directly in the field. Using existing and learned  interactions known from other iCON build or iCON site apps and the intuitive graphical interface, users can simply enter or edit the slope elements on the fly to increase productivity and stake out batter boards easier and quicker.

Easy data handling with point lists

As an alternative to the graphical view, point data can often be created, edited, sorted, and filtered easier in pure point lists. The new point list in iCONstruct simplifies the data handling in the field and allows quick access to specific points through easy search routines. If necessary, users can easily change point features such as target heights, code, etc. All point details can be quickly accessed by tab&hold on a specific point to check and verify all point data. Points can be added during a total station setup or to a GPS coordinate system whenever required without interrupting the workflow. Users can organize point lists as they like in order to show only the information required, e.g. for quick checks or to review the job progress  which makes data handling and control easy and efficient.

Major sketching improvements

The “Trace” option in the sketching tool now features the new “Rotate & Align“ function which allows users to quickly create and apply simple shapes to existing drawings. It is a fast way to densify data on site instead of waiting for a new file. For anchor bolts the patterns are quickly applicable to rotated grids and makes sketching an absolutely valuable tool.

Further enhancements

iCONstruct field v1.7 provides various other new features that will enhance productivity:

  • Trigger measurements on OK button of the Leica iCON CC60/61 controller and return button of the Leica iCON CC50 controller for enhanced ergonomics and frequent data capture
  • Smart Zoom: Zoom & Pan in one step for faster map navigation
  • Point Display: Multiple information available directly in the map – also to take action from
  • DXF improvements: color support for lines for easier identification; reading visible layers while importing and apply to Map handling
  • More flexibility in setting out road models in the field reduces office preparation and allows to react on short-term design changes

The updated iCONstruct v1.7 software is immediately available. Ordering information is available from all authorized Leica Geosystems representatives.
