The Kochi Corporation’s ambitious Geographic Information System (GIS)-enabled mapping project is likely to be delayed further as the project has to be retendered. The civic body has already cancelled the contract with the Mumbai-based 3i-Infotech agency which was earlier awarded the contract. Now, new tenders will be floated and the new agency that will be awarded the work will have to start the work from scratch. The GIS project is implemented under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) and is undertaken by the Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Plan (KSUDP).
