To ensure fool-proof and accurate assessment of damage caused by cyclone Hudhud, the State government has begun geo-tagging damaged houses in the cyclone-hit north Coastal Andhra. The Hyderabad-headquartered National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) is assisting the government in using GIS, GPS and remote sensing technologies to identify real victims and avoid false claims.
