Even as Delhi boasts it is the “flyover capital” of India, traffic experts emphasise that poor urban planning and mindless construction of new flyovers is not a solution to growing traffic bottlenecks in the city.Instead of decongesting the roads, flyovers and signal-free stretches effectively result in clogging up the traffic system. Experts said that the addition of new flyovers is not a long-term solution to deal with city’s growing traffic as the roads get saturated within a few months due to the staggering growth of vehicles in the city.
