With the Philippines emerging as one of the economic bright spots of Asia, it came as little surprise that Manila was chosen as the host of the 2014 World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia, bringing together leading policy-makers, businessmen, academics and journalists from around the world. The event formalized the Philippines’ status as the new toast of the town among global investors, demonstrating growing international confidence in the leadership of the Aquino administration.
