A high-powered committee, constituted by chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, plans to seek help of remote sensing experts to revamp the old drainage system, which is proving ineffective in southern districts of Punjab and causing waterlogging. The committee may take cue from remote sensing system of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and have contour sheets based on global positioning system (GPS) to design the drainage system in the region.
