India Pushes to Conserve Urban Ecosystems for Sustainable Development

While Gangtok, a picturesque town in Sikkim, is fighting with urbanization to conserve fragile Himalayan ecosystem, Kozhikode in Kerala wants to preserve the wetlands in heart of the city that is under threat from constant urbanization. It were some of the cases that got represented at a meet at Center for Environment Education (CEE) on Monday as a part of the Supporting Urban Sustainability (SUS) program being conducted by Swedish International Centre of Education for Sustainable Development (SWEDESD), CEE and International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) South Asia.
