Karnataka to Establish GIS for Online Mining Applications

To facilitate the online processing of mining applications, the Department of Mines and Geology and the Government of Karnataka is going to establish a GIS based geo database system. According to the Department of Mines and Geology, the main objective of the project is to delineate the mineral belts on various potential zones in the state by adopting remote sensing techniques marking the free hold areas for the benefit of all stakeholders involved.
