Japanese firm Secom announced this week that it has developed a prototype drone that it intends to develop as part of the home security services that it provides for its customers. The drone, which is autonomous rather than remote controlled, is based on a quadrocopter design. It would be equipped with a small security camera and be capable of calling the police. If a customers’ alarm system indicates an intruder, the drone could be deployed to record the intruders in the process of breaking in.
