ISRO Data to be Used to Streamline Employment Guarantee Scheme

The state government has decided to go the high-tech way in implementing the employment guarantee scheme (EGS). Satellite images of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) would be used to determine the areas that need to be given priority. ISRO’s geo remote sensing (GRS) images will be used to find out availability of ground as well as surface water. The soil strata and road network data will also be used for implementing EGS works. Images of tree cover will help the government decide areas that need to be reforested on priority basis. Read More
